About Me

Moses Muya is the Executive Director of Hearts of Green Organization, where he leads the organization’s mission to restore degraded landscapes, strengthen climate resilience, and empower communities through sustainable environmental solutions.

With over 12 years of experience in the environmental and conservation sector, Moses has built a distinguished career in landscape restoration, ecosystem conservation, community engagement, environmental education, and strategic partnerships. His leadership has been instrumental in developing collaborative programmes that bring together communities, academic institutions, government agencies, development partners, and the private sector to deliver lasting environmental impact.

Moses is passionate about promoting nature-based solutions that address climate change while improving livelihoods. Under his leadership, Hearts of Green has championed initiatives in school greening, ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation, and the use of digital technologies such as TSNAP to enhance transparency, monitoring, and long-term project sustainability.

He works closely with the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies and other partners to advance the Landscape Repair and Transformation (LANSRET) programme, supporting Kenya’s landscape restoration goals and contributing to national and global climate action.

Moses holds a Master’s Degree in Corporate Management, reflecting his commitment to strengthening organizational leadership and sustainable development. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and is a Chartered Marketing Analyst (CMA), accredited by the American Academy of Project Management (AAPM), New York. These qualifications complement his environmental expertise by strengthening his capabilities in strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, project management, and organizational growth.

A firm believer in lifelong learning, Moses continues to champion innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based approaches to conservation. His vision is to build resilient landscapes where healthy ecosystems support thriving communities, ensuring that restoration efforts generate lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits for present and future generations.
